Training Services

The Consultation Program offers a variety of resources for employers to promote a safe and healthful work environment. The

These include:

Worksite Safety Training: Trained safety and health professionals can provide formal training for a company’s employees on such important topics as fall protection, confined space hazards, trenching and shoring, bloodborne pathogens, lockout/tagout, etc. Generally arranged in conjunction with a comprehensive safety and health on-site consultation, this training is an important way to bring specific training to your own work situations. (For training available outside the program, click here.)

OSHA 10-Hour General Industry and Construction Outreach Courses: Consultation staff generally plan at least one of these trainings in each of the three major geographical parts of the state. For information on upcoming trainings and locations, check this site or call the office at 208-426-3283.

Safety & Health Video Lending Library: The Consultation Program currently owns over 500 titles of VHS format videos on a variety of safety and health topics, including many in Spanish. The service is free to small businesses in good standing. Up to three titles may be checked out for two weeks at a time, allowing time for preview and development of a good safety training.

Publications and Materials: To some extent, the Consultation Program can provide small businesses with copies of OSHA publications and other training materials. Check with the program administrative support staff to determine what materials are available to you and your employees.

Sample Programs: A CD version of several sample programs was jointly compiled by the Consultation Program and the area OSHA Compliance Office. This CD resource is available free-of-charge from our office to assist in the development of effective written safety and health programs.

Compliance Guide for Construction Operations:  This publication is available in hard-copy format or on CD.  Just call our office (208-426-3283) and request one.
