Residential Construction
Local Emphasis ProgramThe Boise Area OSHA Office is implementing a special emphasis program to
improve safety on residential construction sites throughout the state of Idaho.
On 1 June 2004, compliance officers will begin to visit construction sites
statewide. To assist companies working in the residential construction field,
the Idaho Safety and Health Consultation program provides the
following resources.

Training
Available

10
Hour Construction Outreach Training
This 10-hour course covers specific OSHA standards, such as
electrical safety, PPE, material handling, hand and power tools, cranes,
excavation/trenching, fall protection, ladder and aerial lift safety,
steel erection, and scaffold erection. The OSHA Training Institute will issue course completion cards for each student. Pre-registration is
required.

Safety
& Health Training in the Residential Construction Industry
Each year,
falls consistently account for the greatest number of fatalities in the construction
industry. This training program is based on OSHA standards and best
practices of the residential construction industry.
