Association of Classified Employees Senate MEETING MINUTES Present: Gay Barzee, Carol Bugni, Linda Burnett, Carol Carroll, Shelly Doty, Jaque Johnson, Brenda Ross, Kenny Wiscombe Guest Speaker: Blaine Eckles, Interim Director/Student Rights & Responsibilities, Disability Services Blaine presented the Boise State University “Statement of Shared Values” document which outlines the values that Boise State wants to promote for students, faculty and staff in their campus community experience. This document is not part of the Student Code of Conduct. It is a separate document for all associated with the University. Blaine is presenting this document across campus to various groups and colleges and is asking for a vote of support from the groups. A draft copy of this document is included with the minutes. Please email Gay Barzee, GBarzee@boisestate.edu if you have comments or concerns regarding the document. Benefits Fair, May 8 A schedule for volunteers for the Benefits Fair ACE Booth was distributed. The Self-Resource Guide will be provided as a handout, along with a brochure describing the Association of Classified Employees. Both of these documents can be requested from any of the ACE Senate. ACE Elections Election ballots went out today. The ballots need to be received by April 30, 2007, to Keith Hasselquist, Internal Auditor, Mailstop 1240, in order to be counted. ACE Classified Employee of the Year Employee Recognition Criteria Concern was raised as to how the qualifications and criteria were set up and evaluated. It was felt that the forms and criteria may need updating. A subcommittee was developed to discuss some revisions for next year in forms, qualifications, criteria and selection. Human Resources Classified Employee Recognition Lunch The Classified Employee Recognition Luncheon has been rescheduled for October 30, 2007 to accommodate the Student Union Building Renovation. Board Presidents Cabinet The Smoke Free Campus policy was discussed. There will be increased signage around entrances and exits. The policy will be phased in.
