Association of Classified Employees Senate MEETING MINUTES Present: Gay Barzee, Theresa Bow, Carol Bugni, Linda Burnett, Lisa Clements, Shelly Doty, Brenda Ross, Regan Walker, Kenny Wiscombe Guests: Jane Buser, Debbie Alvord, Leah Barrett Update on Revised Policy Manual Jane Buser and Debi Alvord talked about SB 1363 and the changes in compensation policies that it affects. They went over a summary of some of the possible changes and pay increase methods. The new matrix for pay raises is a matrix that combines market value and performance with the new pay schedule developed. Boise State HRS has the task of developing policies within the state DHR guidelines. Campus Climate Survey Leah Barrett gave a brief overview of the Campus Climate Survey and talked about the statistical accuracy of the report because of the large number of responses received. Comments listed in the comments sections are representative comments of those sections rather than a listing of all the comments received. There is a list of recommendations for review. She has asked ACE how we can help influence needed changes. Meeting Minutes Draft meeting minutes for the Senate will have a two day turn around time for approval before being published on the ACE webpage and announced in the UPDATE. Any changes after that time will be brought up at the next ACE meeting and amended within those minutes. ACE Purchases Letterhead for ACE has been purchased for use. Only purchases out of the ordinary will need approval by other ACE members. Write Your Legislator Day The committee has not met yet. They are planning on meeting after Christmas. The day is scheduled for January 23, 2007. Plans have tentatively been made at the Student Union. Committee Reports Affirmative Action The last two meetings have been canceled. No report. Women’s Center Advisory Board Updates were given on several programs and fund raisers. There have been 9 sexual assaults on campus since July. A new full-time position is in process of Violence Education and Response Coordinator, as well as an upgrade of a classified position. There is concern with incivility between students. A University committee is working on revisions to the Student Code of Conduct. A series of announcements will be given regarding keeping the campus safe and secure. Twenty-five women were selected for the Women Making History. There will be a reception in March 2007 honoring the women.
