Mediation is a
voluntary, informal and confidential method for addressing employee-related
disputes. This service is available to all

Mediation is
negotiation using a neutral third party to help resolve a dispute. Mediators
have no need either to judge guilt or decide who is right or wrong. They help
the parties focus on remedies for the future. They assist people to reach their
own solutions. The mediator does not have the power to decide the case.

Mediation is
informal; through thoughtful questioning, creative suggestion and active
listening, the mediator attempts to foster a spirit of cooperation and guide
the two sides to a mutually acceptable agreement.

Committee Reports
Emeritus Committee: Two applications for emeriti
status were approved – Linda Kay Allen and Ann Winslow.
Food Committee: Aramark received the catering contract for
Parking: 15% increase next year in parking fees; 15%
increase in 2007; more reserved permits will be issued
ACE Luncheon: It was suggested that we revisit the cost
that we charge our non-classified guests.
