APPROVAL OF MINUTES: It was MSC by Clements/Wiscombe to approve the January 13, 2005
minutes with changes.
FY 06 SALARY INCREASES: The ACE Senate
was asked to give HR input on the different possibilities for salary increases
should there be funds at BSU available. It was MSC by Wiscombe/Clements to
recommend putting 2% into the base and handled as much as possible as an across
the board increase to all who meet expectations.
TOPICS FOR MEETING WITH KUSTRA: Items to discuss with Dr. Kustra during the Senate’s meeting with him on February 14, 2005 in
the Barnwell Room were discussed. They are:
GOODWILL
PROJECT: Charlton will discuss
expanding the program beyond meals with VP of Finance, Stacy Pearson.
EXCEPTION
FORM: The Classified Compensation Exception Request Form was
distributed to the Senate for review.
This form will be required if a department requests to hire a classified
employee at a pay rate that is in exception to the new compensation policy.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
-Goodwill Committee: Bancroft-Stigall is a member of the Peace
Quilters on campus – they are making a quilt for a fundraiser for ACE. Raffle
deadline will be sometime before Mother’s Day. Other ideas were discussed to
raise funds to include an art auction, chili cook-off, and a talent show.
Bancroft-Stigall asked that anyone who has any fundraising ideas should send
her or Garrett an e-mail.
-Executive Budget
Committee: Wiscombe stated there
will be a Budget Committee meeting concerning fees and tuition on 2-24-05 that
he will attend. A second meeting will take place on 2-25-05 to discuss the
issue.
-Recreation Committee: Carroll
stated this committee hasn’t met due to the difficulty of finding students to
be on the committee.
-Parking Committee: Clarkson
reported that the Parking Committee is working on a satisfaction survey. She
said the indoor practice field is on a fast track, and it will take a big chunk
out of the Pavilion and Chaffee Hall parking lots. The final location for the
next parking structure is yet to be determined.
-Bookstore Committee: Ross stated
the Bookstore has lots of money this year and they are giving some to graduate
students for housing scholarships. They may be asked to donate to the Capitol
Scholars Program to recruit high ability high school students to participate.
She stated that the Bookstore has a place to mail packages and get stamps, etc.
They also sell books for U of I and other universities for their Boise
campuses.
-Bicycle Committee: Charlton
stated there is a public meeting to discuss the use of bicycles and skateboards
on campus and safety concerns. This meeting will be held from 3-4p.m. on
Tuesday, Feb. 15 in the Bishop Barnwell room of the Student Union.
OTHER:
Cash
award for Outstanding Classified Employee discussed. Charlton to ask Jane Buser
if this is possible.
