LEGISLATIVE/BENEFITS/PERSI
UPDATES: Buser and the three senate
presidents met with Senator John Andreason on
Tuesday, December 7. The Senator was
encouraging in his remarks about the possibility of a salary increase for state
employees. CEC testimony will be taken on
WELCOME NEW SENATOR: Cindy Bancroft-Stigall was welcomed to the ACE Senate. Cindy is taking the place of Bryan Chesbro who has been promoted to a professional position on campus. Chesbro was thanked for all his hard work on behalf of ACE. He will be missed.
PRESIDENT’S CABINET: On Monday, December 6 the Classified Employee Compensation policy was introduced for a second reading. After discussion, the policy was voted on and accepted. Other items on the agenda included a presentation by Frank Zang regarding a new image campaign and web site redesign. Sona Andrews introduced the course fee increases, and several documents received a first reading. The President’s Report included information about updating the Master Plan. COMMITTEE REPORTS:
-Goodwill Project Subcommittee: Charlton read a report regarding financial standing and the ornaments being sold in the SUB. For every ornament purchased, a customer gets a chance to win one of two prizes being given away December 20.
OTHER:
1. CEC Testimony: Charlton will poll classified employees to determine how many work two or more jobs to try to make ends meet; this information will be used for CEC testimony in January.
2. Adopt A Family: Charlton will follow up on an earlier suggestion regarding adopting a family. Information should be coming from Bonnie Killian.
