Call to Order: President Rita Nuxoll called the meeting to order at 1:36
p.m.
Brief
Introductions were made for new members.
PRESIDENT’S CABINET: Rita Nuxoll reported on the July
President’s Cabinet meeting.
Highlights include:
Three new
policies were presented for first reading: Animal control on University
property, Antenna/Transmission Systems, and Time, Place & Manner policy.
The first two will be presented for second reading at the next President’s
Cabinet; the Time, Place & Manner policy will go into effect immediately
and be reviewed in January.
Dr. Garrett has
asked the Cabinet to review the policy on skateboards and bicycles on campus.
This will be discussed at the September Cabinet meeting.
Numbers for both
summer school and fall semester registration were reported.
A report from the State Board Meetings
included:
§
The Bond
for the second Parking Structure has been approved.
§
Key Bank
has approved a line of credit for property acquisition, for University
expansion.
§
Fiscal year
’02 Budget has been approved.
§
Athletics
Budget has also been approved.
§
Nursing
unit is working with ISU on a cooperative program.
Committee
Reports:
Committee
assignments have been confirmed with the exception of “Paint the Town” since a
decision regarding continued participation by BSU has not been finalized.
Additional information is still pending before the committee decision can be made
on this community service project.
ACE Open House:
Lois Santillanes reported that the open house has been set for Oct. 2, 2001
from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. Flyers and distribution will be handled by Lisa Clements and
Rhonda Hughes. Flyers will go out by the third week in September.
Other:
Kenny Wiscombe
asked that Rita find out at the next President’s Cabinet meeting, in September,
how ACE could be of help with the Equitable Funding Program. Discussion was
also started by Kenny concerning more “Promotions within the University” and
how ACE can help promote this idea.
ACE Officers
Group Photo will be taken on Oct. 2, 2001 just prior to the open house.

IPEA has asked
to do a presentation regarding changes they’ve made to their membership
benefits. They will be invited to speak at our meeting.
