ACE Senate Transition Meeting

Meeting Minutes

 

Attending:  Rita Nuxoll, Lois Santillanes, Sarah Saras, Kenny Wiscombe, Shirley Turner, Cindy Lock-Smith, Ann  Winslow, Julie Clarkson, Noreen Camacho, Matt Irvin, Connie Charlton, Reida Bow, Valencia Garrett

 

The meeting was called to order by President Rita Nuxoll.  All attending were introduced, and new officers and senators welcomed. 

 

Meetings set:  Meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month at 3:00 p.m. in the Senate Forum.  The secretary will schedule meetings for the year and notify everyone.

 

Committee assignments:  Those attending volunteered for various committee assignments.  Senators not in attendance are requested to contact the secretary with the committee(s) on which they wish to serve.  We will not assign the following committees until the August meeting:  Security Task Force, Executive Budget, Salvation  Army Food Drive, and Steering Committee.  A final list of 2000/2001 Committee Assignments will be issued with the August minutes.

 

Update on survey:  Julie Clarkson reported that the classified employees survey had a 42% rate of return, which is excellent.  All statistics have been recorded and thus far more than 37 pages of comments typed.  The information will need to be analyzed before the ACE Executive Committee meets with the President’s Executive Board and releases the results to the classified staff.

 

Budget request:  The University’s budget proposal for 2001-02 includes a request for money to fund bringing employees toward policy.

 

Emeritus:  An emeritus application was reviewed and voted on, and will be forwarded to the President’s office for approval.

 

Next meeting:  No meeting in July.  The next meeting will be held in the Senate Forum on Wednesday, August 2 at 3:00 p.m.
