Emeritus Review: Emeritus
application for Ron Moran was reviewed and approved unanimously.
Survey: Julie
Clarkson reported on the survey sent to all classified employees last
month. Over 240 responses have been
received (a 42% return rate) with more coming.
Encourage people to complete a survey form and send it in if they
haven’t already done so. Responses have
been mixed. When results are compiled,
a report will be sent to all classified employees.
ACE Awareness: Discussion followed on how to get the word out about
ACE, what ACE is, and who serves on the ACE Senate. ACE will strive to let people know that meetings are open to
any classified employee on campus.
Paint the Town: Sarah Saras
reminded everyone that Paint the Town is June 10th, and she
continues to take names of volunteers.
Other: Merrill
Strong brought up the fact that tuition fee waivers for employees are good only
for academic track classes, and speculated on whether that could be changed to
include all classes at BSU.
Nancy Rountree stated that the Center for Workforce Training gives 25%
discount to employees if a class has not filled. All people have to do is call.
Rita Nuxoll represented ACE
Senate at the President’s Cabinet meeting May 1st
The Board thanked outgoing
President Santillanes for her leadership this year. Incoming President Nuxoll will preside over the next meeting on
June 6th at 3:00 p.m. in the Senate Chambers in the SUB. This will be a transition meeting with both
old and new Senate members attending.
Meeting adjourned at 4 p.m.
Respectfully Submitted,
Ann Winslow for Connie Charlton
