ACE Senate Meeting

March 7, 2000

 

Present: Lois Santillanes, Merrylea Hiemstra, Sarah Saras, Cathy Hampton, Rita Nuxoll, Julie Clarkson, Cindy Lock-Smith, Matt Irvin, Merrill Strong, Connie Charlton.

 

1.                  The Executive Committee will be a standing committee (per discussion and agreement – no vote necessary).

 

2.                  Salary recommendations were discussed at length.  The ACE Senate unanimously agreed to that everyone who meets standard should receive the greater of 2.5% or move to the pay line, and the balance of funds used for pay for performance in conjunction with moving employees to the policy line.  The ACE recommendation will be forwarded to administration to be considered in their final distribution policy.

 

3.                  Suggestions for guest speakers at the ACE Luncheon were considered.  The Boise Chamber of Commerce will be invited to send a speaker to talk about Boise issues and how they impact Boise State University.  One-hour leave time is authorized.  A flyer containing all the pertinent details will be sent to all classified staff.

 

4.                  Committee reports are tabled until the April meeting.

 

5.                  ACE Senate discussed some of the bills before the legislature.  Strong advised that it is not too early to begin to work on legislative issues for next year (2001).
