ACE Senate Meeting
January 4, 2000
MINUTES
Present: Lois Santillanes, Mike Dome, Merrylea Hiemstra, Ann Winslow, Valencia Garrett, Cathy Hampton, Julie Clarkson, Nancy Rountree, Cyndy Lock-Smith, John Gibbons, Merrill Strong, Connie Charlton.
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 3 p.m. by President Lois Santillanes.
Marketing Image Committee Update: Bill Ruud made a presentation on the progress and plans of the Marketing Image Committee to date. A new logo for Boise State University is in the process of review and final approval. The Committee has suggested a theme: "Real Education for the Real World." Discussion was held on methods to assure that all Boise State University employes are informed on issues pertaining to improving the image and the customer responsiveness of Boise State University. Ruud detailed some opportunities for classified staff to serve on task force groups within the Marketing Image committee. Additional detailed information on these opportunities will be issued from Ruud’s office to classified staff.
Change in Compensation Committee: An agenda was distributed for the upcoming meetings of the Joint Senate and House commerce & Human Resources Committee, meeting as the Change in State Employee Compensation (CEC) Committee. The CEC Committee will meet for a full day on January 7, and reconvene on January 13 (after the Governor’s budget address on January 12) and at that time will decide whether to accept, reject, or modify the Governor’s CEC recommendation. Committee Reports: Tabled until meeting on February 1.
