the case and made recommendations.
Firearms/Weapons: Mike Dome announced that this committee recently met to begin
developing rules and regulations about firearms and other weapons on

maximizing the use of available space, giving better pricing to students on
textbooks and other items, and improving service to campus departmental
customers.
Rake
Up Boise: Rake Up Boise, held on
November 13 was a real success as reported by Valencia Garrett. There were 5 teams with 70 team
members.
Legislative: Merrill Strong represented ACE on this committee. He acknowledged Jane Buser’s efforts in
keeping classified employees informed on legislative proceedings that affect
state employees. Strong advises that it
isn’t too early to begin working on legislative issues for next year.
Budget
Committee: Matt Irvin noted that the Budget Committee
reviewed a recommended student fee increase of $84 per semester. Resident hall rates will increase, while an
increase in student housing fees is not yet confirmed.
Wellness
Center: Ann Winslow announced that a new fitness activity
challenge is underway for the month of April.
Women’s
Center: Some events and activities offered during
Women’s History Month (March) were well attended and others were not, as
reported by Nancy Rountree. The Women’s
Center will be moving to the Student Union Building where it will be more
visible and will have the ability to be more interactive. Funding is in place for hiring a coordinator
to work 10 months per year, and for 2 full time support staff.
Food
Service: The Food Service Committee meets only 1-2
times per year. At the meeting she
attended, Nancy Rountree said that the Committee reviewed ways to improve
service to students.
Risk
Management: Cindy Lock-Smith stated that the Risk
Management Committee is working on establishing awareness. Risk Management is updating and writing
policies and procedures. A Risk
Management Awareness Fair, which was well attended, was presented in February.
Resource
Advisory Committee: This Committee discussed legislative activity, and reviewed and discussed
proposed changes to University policies related to personnel issues. Julie Clarkson was the ACE representative on
this committee.
Web
Page: Rita
Nuxoll has kept the web page up to date with minutes, newsletters, and calendar
items. She noted that a counter would
be useful to determine how many people visit the web site. Ideas for hot links were solicited. It was
suggested that awareness of the ACE web page be promoted by including the
address in the minutes.
Paint
the Town: Sarah Saras announced that Paint the Town is
scheduled for June 10th.
ACE, along with the Faculty Senate and Professional Senate, will be
seeking volunteers.
