I Felt Comfortable (GEN-007)
This tragic true life story is about Randy Fellhoelter and the conditions which led up to his narrow escape from death. Randy tells his dramatic story to an audience of co-workers and its impact can be felt as well as viewed. Randy discusses how our attitudes about taking risks can affect our lives and those of our families and friends. Some of the scenes in this high-impact video are very graphic and may not be suitable for all audiences. Scenes of Randy's injuries were taken at the hospital and during his recovery. Kevin Bailey suffered a traumatic amputation of his right leg at the hip and devastating injuries to his left leg after being caught in a powerful rotating shaft. During the grueling rehabilitation process, Kevin was surprised to discover that other injured workers had stories so similar to his. Examining Fatal Shipyard Accidents: Hazards and Solutions - Volume 1 (GEN-015)
Reducing fatal shipyard accidents is the goal of the computer-animated video produced by the Directorate of Science, Technology and Medicine. "Examining Fatal Shipyard Accidents: Hazards and Solutions" features 8 animated re-enactments of actual fatal accidents investigated by OSHA. The fatal accidents and subsequent hazard abatement recommendations are descriptions of what actually happened at the time the accidents occurred. The scenes include crane hazards, confined space hazards, fall hazards, electrical hazards, and improper use of equipment. The video is a hazard awareness video and as such is not all-inclusive.
